We were in the middle of a form class with Grandmaster Chen at his annual workshop in Cologne, Germany. Suddenly he began to talk about his new idea. Animated with sparkling eyes and contagious excitement, we witnessed our teacher getting ready to take flight. At that moment he was truly a bird just about to take off – one integrated movement of releasing, spreading wings and….
It was a once in a lifetime photo moment, but no one was prepared.
And then he repeated it.
The imprint on my being remains forever.
